Dear Parents,
Happy September!
We are off to a great start in third grade! Much was accomplished this week as we logged in reading minutes during our reader's workshop and focused on building stamina. In writing, we are gathering ideas about people or places we know well and began writing our first "seed" stories. We worked on place value and rounding/estimating in math, and completed our first lesson in science on flowers and pollination. We are very busy and loving learning in third grade!
Back to School Night is this Thursday, Sept. 5th. Parents of students in grades 3, 4, 5, and 6 will be meeting in their child’s classroom from 5:00-5:45 PM – that’s us! An all school meeting will follow in Hinde Hall from 5:55-6:25 PM, and meetings in grades JK, SK, 1st and 2nd will take place from 6:35-7:20 PM. I look forward to seeing you on Thursday at 5:00 PM in our classroom!
This Friday your child may come to school in free dress (no theme). Sneakers must be worn for PE.
Have a restful Labor Day weekend.
Ms. Anne Raymond
