Dear Fourth Grade Families,
Happy Monday! I am so proud of our class as we enter into our fourth week together in Fourth Grade. Over the past couploe of weeks, students have been working hard in all subjects. Every now and then, I will assess students on the material that we have covered in class. Each quiz or test will go home, and then I would appreciate a signature before your child returns the assessment to school. I try not to space quizzes and tests back to back, but as the year progresses we will often find that more than one assessment will take place in one week.
This week we have our first Social Studies test that covers Chapter 1 on Wednesday, in addition to a Science quiz on Friday. There will be no math quizzes until next week. A study guide went home for the Social Studies Test tonight that we will review in class tomorrow. We will be exploring a new Mystery in science this week on volcanoes tomorrow and on Thursday, and students will be answering questions about the topics we cover on Friday.
From time to time, I will reassess students. Today we had our first "check-in" in on Place Value, and those papers went home today. Additionally, I sent home corrections to make up points missed on the check-in. Please don't ever hesitate to ask if you have questions about any of the assessments or grades that you see come home. Like I said, I am very proud of how hard everyone has been working, and I am looking forward to keeping the ball rolling as the year progresses.
