November News in SK!
Dear Parents,
October was a busy month of learning in Senior Kindergarten! We took walking field trips in the neighborhood as we learned about our community. We walked around the block to find seeds and see how they grow on different plants. We also got to make Old Black Witch's blueberry pancakes, and make mummies with our 6th Grade Buddies. We took our first driving field trip to Wild Willow farm where we saw how vermi-composting works on a larger scale. It is interesting to think about where our food comes from, and understand the impact we each have on the earth. Thanks to our many volunteers for helping to make all of these trips, adventures, and learning moments possible!
November will be jam packed with lessons about the First Thanksgiving, and Native American Culture. We will study the Wampanoag Indians, the first Native Americans the Pilgrims encountered, and will study different types of Native American dwellings. I look forward to conferences on November 20th, when you will receive your child's report card. Also, the Book Fair runs from November 20-25th. We will sing a song to be live streamed for our grandparents on Grandparent's Day on November 22nd. See below for our focus in curriculum.
