Dear JK Families,
All of the “classroom butterflies” emerged from their chrysalises last week and we released them in the JK garden. Some butterflies even alighted on children’s hands before flying away. It was a joy to see your children’s eyes filled with wonder as they watched the butterflies rest a moment or two and then fly away free!
What fun everyone had at the Harvest Festival! A special thanks to Mariana Gomez-Ibarra for organizing our JK booth and to all of you who helped to make it such a great family event. I loved seeing your little ones all dressed up in their costumes!
In preparation for Halloween this week, the children learned some Halloween Safety Tips and made Halloween crafts. Ask your child to recite the Five Little Pumpkins poem he or she learned last week!
On Monday, look in your child’s red folder for a permission slip for the November 7 Classics for Kids concert. Please return the signed permission slip this week, along with a check or cash to cover the cost of the concert and the bus. Thank you!
The children will soon learn a song to sing for Grandparents’ Day. The all-school Grandparents’ Day presentation will be held November 22 at 2:15 p.m. (the Friday before Thanksgiving break). Parents, grandparents, and friends or relatives who are like grandparents for your children are invited to attend this all-school event in the church.
