February 24 Newsletter
I hope you had a great week and are excited for a week off! The sixth graders worked hard all week as they knew it was the last day of the trimester.
Earlier this week, the sixth grade class went and visited the senior citizens at St. Paul’s Senior Center. They got to make Valentine’s Day cards with the seniors and had wonderful conversations with them. It was great to see them put their Spanish skills to great use!
When we get back, on February 26, we will be kicking off our Lent Drive called “Lotions, Potions, and LUV in Motion.” The sixth graders will be asking the CCDS community to help and bring in toiletries for the first half and socks for the second half. We will be rolling that out when we get back so any support will be appreciated!
As we wrap up our Narrative unit, the students will be creating a presentation based on their narratives and their strengths. We are teaming up with the fifth grade class and the performances will be on Friday, February 28. We split them up into two groups, where Group 1 (Sydney in this group) will be from 8:00-9:00 a.m. and Group 2 (Jordanne and Kylie in this group) will be from 12:45-1:30 pm. Please mark your calendars as this will be a great event!
Here is what we will be doing in academics when we return:
Have a wonderful winter break!
