February 10 Newsletter
Dear parents,
I hope you all had a great week and are gearing up for the weekend. Thank you to all of you who came last night to the Student-Led Conferences. The students did an amazing job showing you all of their hard work and explaining everything. If you still have the parent reflection paper, please give it to your child on Monday.
As we wrap up our Ancient China unit, the students got to practice their Chinese calligraphy with how the ancient Chinese would write and create banners. The sixth graders were very engaged in this lesson and seemed to really enjoy themselves.
For our human body systems unit, the students created their very own life size human body model that shows all the different organs in the body systems. For each organ, they read about it and then wrote a little bit about each organ. They were very excited to show you all at the conferences and explain all about the different organs.
As we wrap up our Narrative unit, the students will be creating a presentation based on their narratives and their strengths. We are teaming up with the fifth grade class and the performances will be on Friday, February 28. We split them up into two groups, where Group 1 (Sydney in this group) will be from 8:00-9:00 a.m. and Group 2 (Jordanne and Kylie in this group) will be from 12:45-1:30 pm. Please mark your calendars as this will be a great event!
Important information:
- For the yearbook, there is a page for the sixth graders to show off themselves as babies! Could you please choose a cute baby photo of your child that shows their personalities really well and email them to me by Monday? If you don't have them on the computer, please bring them in with your child and I will scan them for you and make sure you will get them back. I am excited to see them all!!
- Field trip to St. Paul’s Senior Center is on Monday, February 10. Thank you Ashley for driving!
- Winter Break is from Monday February 17- Friday, February 21.
