Aug. 4, 2022 Rooted in Love

Arching over the doorway into the Spiritual Nurture classroom is our Belonging Tree. This tree is a visible reminder of how the exquisite individuality of each of us creates the richness of our Christ Church Day School community. The Belonging Tree is the inspiration for this year’s Chapel and Spiritual Nurture theme: Rooted in LOVE!

Over the course of our school year, we will consider how each of our school virtues is Rooted in LOVE. We will explore 1Corinthians 13:4-7 and allow it to guide us in our interactions with our school community and at home.

Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful;  it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends. - Corinthians 13:4-7

When we are Rooted in LOVE, we choose words and actions that represent our best selves. Mistakes become an opportunity for collaboration and new growth. We choose to nurture the beautiful diversity that makes us truly ourselves and we blossom in new ways.

I am so excited to explore this theme together this year.

In fact, my excitement is so great that I can’t wait until school starts to get to work on being Rooted in LOVE

I would love to invite your family to pop by Claire’s Cottage this coming Wednesday, August 10th between 12-3 to create a rock for the Rooted in LOVE garden. I will provide the rocks and the paint; you provide the love and the creativity!

If you are unable to join us this coming Wednesday, but would like to contribute to the Rooted in LOVE garden, you may drop a painted rock off at the school office between now and when school starts.

Rooted in LOVE,

Chaplain Charlette
