....... CCDS INFORMER
Mrs. Roberts - Headmistress
Mrs. Roberts - Headmistress

Thank you parents, students, teachers and staff for
making this terrific year at CCDS.
In case you were
not able to make it to the Appreciation Tea, I want to share
this wonderful news with you. CCDS has once again earned
a full six-year term of accreditation. The letter stated,
“ Congratulations, on successfully achieving a full term of
accreditation. Conducting the in-depth self-study and
preparing for the visit requires a tremendous effort.
Maintaining an effect quality program for students in the face
of today’s challenges is truly a commendable feat.” This
would not have been possible without the participation
of so many of you parents, the teachers and staff, and
without our terrific Self-study coordinator, Janie Hansen. What a wonderful way
to end the year!

Seven years go by so quickly. These precious 6th grade students will be sorely
missed, but we won’t go there yet, because we have this last week to enjoy them!
During the week, the 6th graders will hand out the annual, which they have
spent the last month producing under the able direction and enthusiasm of
Mrs. Funk, our CCDS composition teacher, and Mrs. Shropshire, our technology teacher. It is a great annual. So be sure to look at it.

There are many activities filled with fun and nostalgic moments packed into
the next 4 days. The basic information you will need to survive is listed below.

For our 1st year parents, Closing Chapel is a family time.
While we will be honoring each sixth grader, the other children have a parent present also to take advantage of a Kodak moment as each child receives his or her report card from Father Edward, their teacher, and me. The students, under the direction of Mrs. Moody, will present a musical offering during the service. When the service is over, parents will gather around the flagpole with their children one last time for school dismissal at about 9:30.

God bless you all with a wonderful, safe summer, and thank you for everything you have done for CCDS and your children this year.

PICKING UP YOUR CHILDREN ON TIME

Pick up on Wednesday’s is getting increasingly late for more and more children.
Teachers have to wait for the last teacher to arrive before we start our staff
development meetings. We have been sending students to Day Care for
a few minutes, but those numbers are getting out of hand. Therefore,
we will be enforcing the policy of charging $10 for students who enter
Day Care for a short time because they are late being picked up after school.
It is not fair to our teachers or to those who pay for after school care
and homework club to do otherwise.

 IT'S CAR PARKING SENSE

Long-term parking near CCDS is extremely limited, and short-term
parking virtually nonexistent. Extreme caution should be taken
while entering and leaving the parking facilities owned by the Church
on “C” Avenue. Small children should be escorted across the street
by their parents. Please observe the no stopping zone between
the signs in front of the school, as well as the common sense rules
of no double parking or U-turns in mid-block. Parents should remain
in their cars if they are in the loading zone and pull forward
as cars move forward.

offers a tool to interpret
scriptures and to probe the
most difficult issues of
humanity. Consistent with
that tradition, the mission of
Christ Church Day School is to
foster the development of the
reasoning and critical thinking
skills necessary to explore the
deepest issues of humanity and
to understand our individual
responsibilities for the well-being
of society, in a learning environment
that is founded on the love of God
and love for our fellow human beings.
