Dear JK Families,
I hope you have all had a beautiful
Mother’s Day!
In preparation for Mother’s Day this
past week, we talked all about love -- about a mother’s love, about
God’s love and about the ways we can show love for our mothers and for others. Some books that we read on this topic were “I Love You
Forever,” “God Loves You,” “Loving Hands for Jesus,”
“Somebody Loves You Mr. Hatch,” “Why Do You Love Me?” and
“Just for You.” Caleb brought his Bible to class, so we also
read about love in 1 Corinthians, chapter 13.
Songs were an important part of our
week as well. We added the song, “I Love You Mommy” to our I Can Read
Anthologies and I am also teaching the children to sing “I Love you
So Much.” This song has a special place in my heart because I
sang it to my own son and daughters at bedtime when they were little
and I sing it to your children at the end of rest time almost every
day. For Mother’s Day, my daughters created a wonderful book for
me based on this song and I will share it with your children on
Monday.
This week, we will learn about the
Ascension of Jesus into heaven which Fr. Edward will also talk about
during Thursday’s chapel service. So, our letter of the week this
week will be “J” for Jesus. .
