What makes Christ Church Day School different from other local schools?
It is important for a child to be in a loving environment that encourages life-long learning. At Christ Church Day School there are many advantages that support that ultimate goal such as small class size, a value-set curriculum and a loving "community" family. Specialty classes in art, music, PE, Spanish, and Spiritual nurture are advantages that all students enjoy at CCDS. The technology program offered to students and used in preparation of lessons is also an impressive support for life-long learning. CCDS has earned the highest 6-year term of accreditation from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges and is a member of the National Association of Episcopal Schools. We encourage you to visit the school in order to experience the Christ Church Day School difference.

Should I expect to be on a waiting list?
Beginning on September 1st of each year, a new waiting list is compiled for the following school year. While on the waiting list, priority is given to siblings of current Day School students and students of parishioners in all grades until December 31st. Then the actual enrollment process starts with kindergarten and junior kindergarten students in January. Visits are scheduled at that time for openings for the next year. This same process is followed for 1st - 6th graders beginning in mid-February.

What type of involvement is expected of a parent?
Your child's education is a family affair at CCDS. Therefore, home and school work hand-in-hand to build a strong community supporting the success of all students. Conferences are scheduled in the fall and as needed throughout the school year. Support of school policies is expected in accordance with the Parent Handbook. Beyond that, all other activities are voluntary. Parents are welcome to attend chapel services, which are held twice a week. There are many opportunities to volunteer in the classrooms. Participating as an art parent, room parent, or room representative to the CCDSPA are just a few of the ways a parent may volunteer. Additionally, parents are involved in supporting the Annual Golf Tournament/Dinner Auction and Annual Giving Campaign, and each class is responsible for organizing one activity during the school year. This wide variety of activities for parent involvement supports the students academically and forms the strong sense of community at CCDS.

All students in grades junior kindergarten through 6th grade are expected to wear the school uniform. When parents of alumni think of their child's time at CCDS, the traditional red sweaters are a fond memory. Navy blue pants or shorts and plaid jumpers for the girls are part of the uniform. The sixth grade girls wear skirts. The complete uniform requirements are listed in the Parent/Student Handbook.
