Dear Fifth Grade Families,

A very special Happy Mother's Day to all!!!! I hope tomorrow and the days that follow bring happy smiles to your homes.

The terrific sticky notes placed on the doors, windows, and hallways last Monday indicated the start of something really big. What a great week you all made it! I deeply appreciate the many treats and gifts the class gave to me during the last week. The hand drawn cards, flowers, fruit,  chocolates, OREOS, popcorn, gift cards, and, again those heartwarming  sticky notes really made my week.Thank you.

Our SATs begin Monday morningMay 14th and will continue through the followingMonday, May 21st.  The SATs consist of some ten/eleven different tests-Most require about 30-40 minutes to complete, with one or two that generally take about 50-60 minutes to complete. For the fifth grade, the morning "testing" will usually be over by 11AM , and the class will then return to their normal academic routine. There will be regular homework and regular afternoon classes

The Camp Stevens trip is 11 days away. Abby Gordon, a representative from Camp Stevens will brief the class Thursday morning about what to bring, what is planned for our stay, and answer any questions.Parents are invited to this briefing. If you do plan to attend, please let me know so that I can provide seating.

Many of the Camp Stevens forms have been turned in, but there are a few that we still need to collect. Please return these forms to me no later than Wednesday, May 17th, as our Camp Stevens representative, Abby Gordon, will pick them up that day.

A reminder, we are requesting that checks be made out to CCDS for the $166 payment and that these checks be sent in to Mrs. Kassir’s office by Friday May 18th.

We have enough parent drivers to ensure that each driver has to drive up and back from Camp Stevens only once. Right now, drivers are set up as follows:

Wednesday, May 23rdCCDS to Camp Stevens-Anne Morris and Caylee Pinsonneault with planned departure fm CCDS at 9:30AM

Friday, May 25th, Camp Stevens to CCDS with planned departure fm Camp Stevens at 12:30PM-Tami Woods, Shannen Tanuma , and Brooke Mahrer.
