....... CCDS INFORMER
Mrs. Roberts - Headmistress

Dear CCDS Families,

Thank you for all your prayers and thank you to Barbara Kassir
and the teachers for holding down the fort while I was gone.
While there were some complications that dictated my delay
in coming home, everything seems to be fine now.
My mother is going home to mend and regain her strength.

The 6th grade is having another fundraiser at La Salsa on
Friday evening. If you are thinking about eating out or getting
take out on Friday, please consider going to La Salsa, where
part of the proceeds will go to the 6th grade class.

Halloween is just around the corner and excitement is building. CCDS will have the
traditional Halloween Parade, but because Halloween is really on Saturday, it will be
an abbreviated parade route. Room reps have sent out information about parties,
but here is what the teachers, room reps and I have decided. The 5th and 6th graders
will plan their own classroom parties. Mr. Dennis and Mrs. Power are handling these
parties on their own and will ask for help if they need it. JK will also have their own
party in their classroom after the parade. K thought 4th grade have arranged their
parties with their room parents and these five classes will share the three games
being set up in the courtyard. For all classroom parties there will be one Halloween
treat such as a cookie or cupcake, drinks and pizzas or sandwiches. By following the
plan we will keep sweets in a reasonable range, have fun and still have room to
celebrate on Saturday.

Costumes must be fun but not too scary. No blood and gore and no weapons are
allowed. Again, save those types of costumes for Halloween night. This will ensure
that all our students have fun and are not frightened.

On Friday morning, I look forward to meeting with the 4th grade parents in Hinde Hall
for coffee and conversation if they are able to attend at 8:00.

Headmistress
