....... CCDS INFORMER
Mrs. Roberts - Headmistress

FROM MRS. ROBERTS

Thank you CCDS choir members and Mrs. Moody!
The CCDS Choir’s performance at the Del was one
that made us all proud.
The students offered a very
professional performance under Mrs. Moody’s
direction, and many strangers commented on how
much they enjoyed our school’s choir performance.
The harmony was beautiful.

As part of the normal accreditation process for WASC
(Western Association of Schools and Colleges), CCDS
is beginning a new six-year cycle.
This begins with a Self-Study that takes
about a year and a half to complete. After Christmas, you will be invited to a
meeting at which time the process will be explained in detail, but before we
can begin the process the school needs to build a profile based on information
gathered from parents and other sources. Today a questionnaire has been sent
home with your child.
Please fill out one of these forms per family and return
this information to the school by no later than December 17th. Your name does
not need to be included on your responses. The profile will be written over
Christmas vacation, so please respond quickly so we are able to build an
accurate profile for our school.

This coming week your child will be very busy. We will be practicing for the
Christmas Program, which is on Tuesday evening, December 16th.
Watch for
details on this from your child’s classroom teacher. Dress shoes will be needed
for this performance. No tennis shoes please.
Girls will need black flat-heeled
shoes. These shoes will be worn again on December 19th’ at closing chapel.
Gifts for the classroom gift exchanges are due on the 15th of this month.

Progress reports will be coming home this Wednesday. Remember, these
are reports comment on your child’s progress from the end of the 1st quarter.
They cover about 4 weeks of work. While we hope the news is good, it is
important to remember that grades can change dramatically upward or
downward the remaining 4 to 5 weeks of this quarter.
In most classes there
will be tests given during the next two weeks. So with all the holiday
excitement, be sure to assist keeping your child up-to-date and prepared
in regard to assignments.

Second grade parents, I invited you to share a cup of coffee and
conversation this Friday with me in Hinde Hall at 8:05.

......... News Flash

You may be seeing retired teacher, Mrs. Janie Hansen around campus. While she has
not come out of retirement to teach, she has agreed to be our CCDS WASC Self-Study
Coordinator. (Yes, it is that time again.) Janie and I have teamed together to lead this
effort for the past two Self Studies. Needless to say, I am thrilled that she is willing to
take on this demanding task once again. – Nancy Roberts
