....... CCDS INFORMER
Mrs. Roberts - Headmistress

FROM MRS. ROBERTS

With less than 2 weeks to go, if you have not yet made
your reservations for the Golf Tournament and/or Dinner
Auction, please do so right away.
If you have any questions
contact Kathy Justice. We need golfers; so put a group together
or call Kathy to join a group. A partial list of the auction items
will be posted under the Dolphin button on the home page
of the website. Check it out!
Some of you might want to put a
group together ahead of the event to plan a joint bid on a trip or
other packages listed in the program. There are fantastic items
this year.
I have seen the framed artwork for each class.
I’m sure you will be as excited about what the children have created as I was.

Please make sure you have returned the conference forms sent to you for your
child’s Parent – Teacher conference next week.
This is an opportunity for you and
the teacher to share insights and information which will enhance your child’s education.
It is an important part of the teamwork between parents, teachers and students that
you hear me refer to so often.

Halloween is almost upon us! This is such an exciting time for children.
We do our best to keep expectations reasonable at school so there will be enough
energy left over for your child to enjoy the evening of trick-or-treating without having
a total meltdown. I know all of the room parents in charge of this party have been in
touch with your teachers. I would just stress that all children should wear costumes
that are appropriate for school. In other words, no fake weapons or costumes with
blood or gore that might ruin a young kindergarteners day.
(Save those for the
evening!) Some children are very sensitive to these things.
Thank you for your support on this matter.

The school will parade around town, leaving between 9:30 and 9:45 in case you
would like to catch a glimpse or take a picture as we leave.

......... CLUBS THIS WEEK

To Be Announced – We’ll have a Saturday morning scenery and props painting workshop.

HOMEWORK CLUB FOR GRADES 3 - 6

CCDS is offering a HOMEWORK CLUB Monday - Thursday for
children in 3rd to 6th grade. Mrs. Orr will supervise the children doing
their homework in a room separate from the younger children in Day Care.

The room will be designated as a Quiet Zone with assistance being offered
as needed by Mrs. Orr for those children attending the Homework Club.

A quick snack will be provided, and then an hour of homework supervision
from 3:15 to 4:15 Monday through Thursday. If your child is in the After School
Day Care program, he or she will automatically be enrolled in the program.
If your child is not enrolled in Day Care, we are offering an introductory purchase
option. You may buy a block of 10 visits for $150. Then all you have to do is call
and let the office know what days your child will be attending HOMEWORK CLUB.
Members of the HOMEWORK CLUB are also eligible to stay in After School Care
after 4:15.
