Students meet by grade level with the spiritual nurture teacher weekly. During the class time, the children explore the meaning of the lessons presented in the chapel services in an age appropriate way.
The curriculum materials used are from Seasons of the Spirit, a lectionary-based resource created by an international team of writers and editors representing denominations from Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the USA, and the UK.
The theological foundations of Seasons of the Spirit support a vision that provides God's people with lectionary-based, ecumenical resources that empower all ages to be transformed in Christ as they:
- Explore meaning and mystery in the Bible
- Celebrate in worship, sacraments, education, and service
- Engage in ministries of love, justice, and witness
- And live in inclusive communities of faith, shaped and led by the Holy Spirit.
In addition, the school highlights a virtue of the month based on Galatians 5:22 which teaches about "the fruits of the spirit."
"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control." ~ Galatians 5:22.
These monthly virtues are linked to a character education program, entitled Wise Skills, which has weekly themes.
