Specialty Subjects at CCDS
	The specialty subjects at CCDS are a valued and integral part of our curriculum. Specialty teachers for all grade levels teach art, music, PE and Spanish classes. In the lower grades, the classroom teacher teaches science and technology.    After the students have mastered the basic primary skills in the early grades, the emphasis on expanded skills and knowledge in composition, science and technology is reflected in a departmentalized approach. In 4th, 5th, and 6th grades, there are specialty teachers for these subjects. Consulting with classroom teachers, the specialty teachers integrate projects with other areas of the curriculum.
